Update: Business is booming!

Hello Tidy Timers! I may have gotten ahead of myself when I committed to doing blog posts on a weekly basis as things are getting very busy for us here, so I just wanted to make time and get in at least a new post each month when I update the website.
First off let me just say a huge thank you to all of our supporters and customers because without you we would not have been so successful in our endeavours to grow the company as far as we have come. In the last month we have been flooded with requests from new customers and also taken on 3 new staff with potentially another new starter by this time next week, once I have got to know the team a little better I look forward to dedicating a post to introducing them all.
Our CEO Lucy has been fantastic in supporting all of the staff here at Tidy Time Services alongside her uni exams at this extremely busy time, (good luck & congratulations for that by the way!) the company is growing and we are branching out to Leeds so she will be able to focus more time and effort in that area after all that hard work has paid off here in Basingstoke.

I look forward to informing you all of our future achievements and success for the company as it is only onwards and upwards from here, please feel free to spread the word if you get a chance, it would be very much appreciated.

Until next time, Tidy Timers, take care!

DIY stain removal on white painted wooden furniture

18/12/2015

I have this wooden TV unit that I painted and distressed myself, it takes pride of place and is the focal point in my living room. Unfortunately I have found that when things are handmade they are not as robust and resistant to a good old scrubbing without removing some of the paint, not to mention all my hard work! So you can imagine my frustration when I found a few nasty tea stains on my mini masterpiece. At first attempted to wipe it down with water but the stain was stubborn and set in, so after some deep thought I came across this simple & natural method for stain removal - lemon juice! And you won't believe how well it works. It is both natural & gentle, (I use it to whiten my teeth daily so I was confident it was the best option for my once white TV unit) also it is low enough for my son to reach so I didn't fancy using any harsh chemicals as he plays with his toys & occasionally eats his snacks off there. So anyway here is how I did it, & a few photos to follow in this slideshow..
So as you can see there were some really tough sticky marks (from grubby little fingers) alongside the watermarks/tea stains that also needed removing with as little damage possible, if you're interested in trying this out for yourself then all you need to do is follow these steps:
  1. Cut a fresh lemon in half and squeeze out the juice (if you don't have a juicer like myself then a fork will do the job just fine, just make sure you have a sieve over the bowl to catch any seeds or pulp)
  2. Using a cotton pad, dip it in the fresh lemon juice and apply to the affected areas
  3. Leave for a few minutes ( depending on the intensity of the stain)
  4. Gently wipe with a water soaked cotton pad
That's it! Good as new and has now got a lovely sheen aswell as a gorgeous scent - ready for the next time someone forgets to use a coaster but next time i'll be prepared.
Thanks for reading guys, take care until next time.

First off i just want to say a huge thank you for sharing your support for small business' such as ourselves by visiting our website. My name is Jordan, I'm a mum of 1 little boy who goes by the name of L'ucai. I am responsible for all aspects of admin & marketing for the company. Then there is the big boss & founder of the company Lucy - or Mrs G as i like to call her, she also has a little boy called Daniel. We actually met when we lived in the same building and our children became playmates and we have been babysitting for each other ever since!
Really looking forward to running the company blog as I have always got ideas that I would love to share such as; cleaning with little ones - for the parents, DIY & natural cleaning alternatives - i'm already in the process of changing my household products to vegan/animal friendly, and top tips -  anything we've done that has worked particularly well that's worth noting. As always any suggestions you would like us to test & try are more than welcome, as are your success stories/pictures you wouldn't mind us uploading to share on our page.
Don't forget we have a Pinterest account full of useful tips and tricks for those dull moments between new blog posts and updates, so be sure to follow us and check it out!
Thanks again
Jordan
